[new] Pens “You Only Love Me When I Tell You I’m Wrong”

Pens, UK’s three-piece lo-fi rockers, have released a new track, “You Only Love Me When I Tell You I’m Wrong.” While the song is just a jumbled mess of guitars, cymbals, and distorted vocals, I can’t seem to stop hitting ‘replay’ after each listen.

[new] Interpol “Lights”

Well this is great news!  Interpol has just given us a brand new song, “Lights”  from their upcoming untitled 4th album.  The band put the song up on their website for free download, but the site has crashed due to an overwhelming amount of downloads. The guys in the band have said that the new album will sound a lot more like their stuff from “Turn on the Bright Lights.” Anyone else as excited as I am?

M.I.A. “Born Free” [video]

Yesterday I posted the awesome track, “Born Free” from M.I.A.’s upcoming album. Today, she dropped the music video, which was directed by Romain Gavras.  The video goes for over 9 minutes, and let me warn you, it is pretty violent-  it has actually been dropped from youtube in the USA.

New Grizzly Bear song in Lottery Ad?

Yes, that is correct: a new untitled Grizzly Bear song was used in a new Washington Lottery commercial.   It is a sunny song with Beach Boy- like harmonies. The clip is directed by Patrick Daughters ( who directed Grizzly Bear’s  “Two Weeks” video), and was choreographed  by Michael Rooney ( who is responsible for the 500 Days of Summer Hall & Oates 500 Days Of Summer dance sequence).  Watch the commercial and enjoy new Grizzly Bear, even if it is only for one minute!

[new] M.I.A. “Born Free”

Boy, am I glad M.I.A. is back! “Born Free” is a HOT punk rock song which is off her upcoming and as-yet-untitled album due out June 29th.  This is a whole new sound for M.I.A, and her producer, Diplo, reckons :

It’s turning into an Animal Collective kind of record, which represents a total departure from what you would expect from her, but that’s where her head was at.”

I personally love it, what do you guys think?

Twin Sister played a late night show last Friday on a rooftop in Brooklyn and covered this Daft Punk song.  Sometimes I really wish I lived in NYC so I could go to awesome things like this! Video by Ian Perlman.
