Warpaint is quickly becoming one of my favourite bands out there. I stumbled across this gem the other day- “Ashes to Ashes” can be found on the two disk We Were So Turned On: A Tribute To David Bowie. The tribute cd also features covers by Chairlift, Sister Crayon, and Edward Shape and the Magnetix Zeros. I love how they’ve completely made this song their own. Check it out below.
Last week, we got to watch the film clip for Deerhunter’s “Helicopter,” a track off their highly anticipated and upcoming album, Halcyon Digest (officially out September 28th). I just found this trippy remix of the tune on IGIF by UK deejay Star Slinger. Check it out!
Watch Freelance Whales’ brand new film clip for “Hannah,” off their much-loved debut record Weathervanes.
For all you dog lovers out there, check out Delorean‘s new music video for “Real Love.”
The Morning Benders have released their 2nd echomix, which features a gorgeous cover of Paul McCartney’s “Ram On.” You can grab the track below, along with the other lovely songs part of the mix- which are sure to brighten your day!
Swedish trio, Radio Dept, just put out a brand new single “the new improved hypocrisy.“ The track was written in reaction to the upcoming Swedish general elections (next Sunday).
Yes, you read that correctly- Shoes. The boys of Animal Collective will soon be collaborating with the Los Angeles-based Keep Shoes to produce some AnCo footwear. The company’s mission statement reads: “Keep is a shoe company, a clothing company….an amalgam of interests, a way of being, a force, a language, a family and many other things.” Hmm, okay.
So far the only information we have about this partnership is the photo seen above, featuring text that says “Keep + Animal Collective” over symbols of a shark and other sea creatures. Will I buy a pair of these shoes? Who knows. But fingers crossed they design some AnCo socks to go with the new kicks!
Yet another Brandon Flowers track has surfaced the internet, this time being the campy and MGMT-esque “Only the Young.” Check it out below. Flamingo is out for those of you who live States side- you can buy it over at Amazon or iTunes.
Check out this 80′s inspired duet between Chromeo and Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig entitled “I Could Be Wrong.” The track is a highlight from Chromeo’s new album Business Casual, which is out today.
